Initial Workup
Patient Forms
Upon entering our office our receptionist will greet you and welcome you as a member of our family. We will request you fill our patient forms located in the New Patient Center. The paperwork provides us with general information about yourself and your condition.
Consultation
Next you will have a consultation with Dr. Lawrence Stern to discuss your health-related problems, concerns, as well as potential treatment options. Your first visit is designed for Dr. Lawrence Stern to learn more about you, your condition and your expectations to determine whether chiropractic care will you meet your goals.
Examination
After your consultation, Dr. Lawrence Stern will perform a complete chiropractic examination which includes a Thermal Scan, Surface EMG, Digital Postural Exam and a Network Spinal Analysis Evaluation. Nothing will be done in our office without your consent.
Thermal Scan & Surface EMG
We will primarily utilize two scans in order to get a complete picture of your nerve system:
Surface Electromyography (SEMG) and Thermal Scan. The Surface EMG measures patterns of stress in the musculo-skeletal system.
The Thermal Scan measures how the body regulates itself through the nervous system. This new tool will thoroughly evaluate the nervous system and will give a 'snap shot' of how much stress the nervous system is under.
So regardless of how you are feeling, it can objectively detect any hidden patterns of accumulated stress in your body. To better serve you, the Insight Millennium will not only help us in our initial evaluation, but will also be used to help assess your progress in care.

Posture Pro Advanced Posture Analysis We utilize an advanced computerized posture analysis system called Posture Pro. Using this software and image capture system, we can analyze your posture and make recommendations to help you look and feel your best. Remember, posture is a window to the spine. Bad posture can affect your health and well being. |

Report of Findings
Once all the information and examinations have been performed, Dr. Lawrence Stern will give you a report of findings to answer the three most popular questions:
- Can you help me?
- What do you recommend that I do to get better?
- How much is it going to cost?
After discussing with you your history and your goals, examining your spine and reviewing any x-rays or other diagnostic tests, Dr. Lawrence Stern will discuss recommendations with you. If you have a condition that requires care with other providers, the doctor will tell you. If Dr. Lawrence Stern believes we can help you, we will recommend a chiropractic care and wellness program.
Chiropractic Care
Patients will generally be provided with their first healing session at the conclusion of the appointment. This may include Chiropractic spinal adjustments, NSA entrainments and/or soft tissue work. Spinal care is interactive with you so you can express any concerns you have about the style of adjustment you will be most comfortable with.
How do I get Spinal Subluxations?
Spinal subluxations are the result of stress put upon your body. As a child you may have had them occur during a difficult birth, or from falls while at play. Later on in life, emotional tension or stress can gradually damage your spine. Severe damage and subluxation can come from violent injuries while playing sports or being involved in a car accident.
In short, everyday life can put unnecessary stress on your spine, and nearly everyone gets vertebral subluxations.
